Care for Creation
We care for creation to honor our Creator
Christ Lutheran
Church's Care for Creation team meets on the second Thursdays of the month
at 7:00PM and welcomes new members. The group looks for ways to make a difference in our
care of the world starting here at our church home. We seek ways to use less
energy at church, recycle more instead of adding to a landfill, and inform
members of ways to protect and preserve our environment.
Our
church recycles cans, paper, plastics, and print cartridges.
Church is also an ongoing collection point for Kokomo Urban
Outreach's call for the following items to help them distribute food and
soap to community members in need. Leave them in the specially marked
containers in Fellowship Hall.
-
plastic grocery bags (because of
needing a consistent size, please only grocery bags)
-
plastic water bottles with caps,
emptied, rinsed well and dry on the outside
Future events
During Lent--Feb. 17 through Apr. 3--Care for Creation
will explain and encourage members to go on a low carbon "diet."
We will celebrate Earth Day on April 18th in liturgy
during our service and in after-church activities including a brunch and the
short movie The Story of Stuff.
