Music at CLC

If you love to sing or play an instrument, whatever your skill level, age, or ability may be, we invite you to participate in Christ’s musical community. Your talent is a gift from God and Christ Lutheran is blessed to have many people sharing their talents and enjoying the fellowship of our musical ensembles.

Directed by Minister of Music Thomas Dearchs, the choir meets from September through May each year, rehearsing each Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. The choir rehearses in the Music Room or the Nave. In addition to singing on Sundays, the choir sings for various special services throughout the year, such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and occasionally at the Easter Vigil.

The Parish Choir’s purpose is to lead, enable, and inspire the singing of liturgy, psalms, and hymns in worship. The choir sings a variety of music, from renaissance motets to hymn concertatos to spirituals, and frequently sing acapella.
