Music at CLC
If you love to sing or play an instrument, whatever your skill level, age, or ability may be, we invite you to participate in Christ’s musical community. Your talent is a gift from God and Christ Lutheran is blessed to have many people sharing their talents and enjoying the fellowship of our musical ensembles.
Directed by Minister of Music Thomas Dearchs, the choir meets from September through May each year, rehearsing each
Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. The choir rehearses in the Music Room or the Nave. In
addition to singing on Sundays, the choir sings for various special services throughout the
year, such as Ash Wednesday, Maunday Thursday, Good Friday and
occasionally at the Easter Vigil.
The Parish Choir’s purpose is to lead, enable, and
inspire the singing of liturgy, psalms, and hymns in worship.
The choir sings a variety of music, from renaissance motets to
hymn concertatos to spirituals, and frequently sing a capella.

In addition to the musical ensembles that lead worship,
Christ Lutheran is blessed with many volunteers who sing and play their
instruments for church. For each worship service, a worship cantor helps lead
the singing of the liturgy and psalms, and sometimes sings a solo during the offertory.
Instrumentalists frequently provide special music at Christ.Percussion, violin, clarinet, recorder ensemble, saxophone, oboe,
trumpet, brass quartet, piano, guitar, and flute are just a few of the instruments heard
throughout the year in worship. If you are interested in singing or playing
for worship, whether as a worship cantor or in a choir,
