Q: [What happens at the Sunday
service...?]
A: [In general our Sunday services follow a relatively
structured format that flows from forgiveness and reconcilation, to
learning and enrichment, to celebration. We try to identify a
central theme or focus for each service, and we work hard at making
our music the very best it can be. A visitor friendly bulletin
allows everyone to follow along and participate.]
Q: [Do I have to know anything special
to participate...?]
A: [Not to worry! The service bulletin contains everything that
goes on in the service, in chronological order. And the pastor
reinforces this with verbal information at the beginning of the
service. Besides, we are reasonably low key and laid back in
adjusting as needed.]
Q: [What about the Lord's Supper...?]
A: [The Lord's Supper, or Holy Communion, or Eucharist, is a
tradition that dates back to the beginnings of the church. We share
bread and wine, as did Jesus with his closest followers, just before
his death. It is a celebration of our life together with God, and
with each other. We welcome all baptized Christians who wish to join
with us. We offer grape juice as an alternative to wine for those
who so desire.]
Q: [What do I wear...?]
A: [There is a range of styles, from formal to casual, really a
cross section at every service. In short, there is no hidden dress
code. Wear what seems comfortable to you.]
Q: [What about children...?]
A: [We have some! And we enjoy them. For children five and under we
provide a nursery service during the Sunday worship hour, if you
wish. Many prefer to bring their children with them in the
service, and only use the nursery as an "emergency" backup. We
are used to having young children present.]
Q: [What if I am not Lutheran...?]
A: [You are in good company. Jesus wasn't either. The
congregation represents a cross section of different backgrounds,
and denominational distinctions don't mean what they meant 500 years
ago.]
Q: [Where are you located...?]
A: [South on Dixon Road, or 200West, at the corner of Zartman Road
on the west edge of Kokomo.

Q: [I am a bit nervous about walking
into a church of people I don't know...?]
A: [Yes, that is the way most people feel about a new church. But
the old timers don't necessarily know everyone either. And hey, the
coffee after service is hot. We have some nice round tables in the
fellowship hall, conducive to conversation. Relax. Introduce
yourself.]
